Over 500  Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Leaders and Trefoil Guild Join Over 5000 Others To Celebrate Girlguiding South West England’s Birthday Bash

As part of the Region’s 40th anniversary celebrations, over 500 girls from Cornwall chose to join 5000 other guiding members from across the entire South West for a spectacular birthday party on Saturday, 18th June 2011 at Exeter’s Westpoint Arena.

At this action packed, girl-only event, the girls had the opportunity to learn lots of new skills such as wood carving, juggling and sausage making. They also chose to venture beyond their comfort zones and tested both their skill and nerve with a variety of challenging activities including: climbing, ice skating, quad biking, zorbing and dry slope skiing. All those attending were also able to enjoy a full scale fun fair.

Hannah, a guide said, “I did so many exciting new things that I’ve never done before – it was awesome. We loved all the activities and the opportunity to try our hand at so many new and varied things. It was an unforgettable day.”
