Presentation of Awards
Added: 19th May 2010

Over 200 members, Leaders, guests and supporters were present at the Shire House Suite in Bodmin for our annual presentation evening on 13th May.

The evening started with presentations of special County certificates in recognition of their success, to Guides who have gained their Baden-Powell Awards (the highest award in the Guide section) and their Guide Camp Permit, as well as to the four Senior Section young women who gained their Queen's Guide awards during the year. Many of the Guides concerned have already gone on to the Senior Section. Presentations to adults included ‘long service’ awards, and started with those who have given 20 years, 30 years and 40 years of service to Guiding. This section culminated in those who have completed a full 50 years of dedicated service as an adult – all of these have gone on helping in the County in various ways well beyond the age of 65. Other awards included the County Good Service certificate and the County Standard brooch. One member was presented with the Girlguiding UK Good Service Brooch, and two new Vice Presidents and three new County Life Members were welcomed.
