The Chief Guide visits the Isles of Scilly
Liz Burnley, the Chief Guide of Girlguiding UK, recently visited the Isles of Scilly. She was met by Fiona Robson (Island District Commissioner) and Mary Eddy (County Commissioner). The huge Trefoil sign was made by local Guides, Brownies and Rainbows.

Guides fill the Cathedral
On Saturday 20th February, Cornwall marked Girlguiding UK's World Thinking Day, with a celebration in Truro Cathedral. Nearly 1000 members of Girlguiding Cornwall joined together to reflect on how they have been involved in “changing the world".

During our Centenary Thinking Day service in the Cathedral, two members who have worked tirelessly for the County for many years were presented with the Silver Oak Leaf Award.

Three Queen’s Guide candidates were presented with their awards on Friday 15th January. They were : Claire Parkyn and Emma Mannell (Hensbarrow) and Kelly-Marie Wilton (Lostwthiel). The presentation took place at the Eden Project, followed by Ice skating

Brownies have fun at Nine Ashes
In October nearly 170 Brownies took part in an activity day for Sixers and Seconders at Nine Ashes, the Cornwall Scout activity centre.

The internet is changing the way we live. Young people have taken to technological advances very quickly, taking advantage of the opportunities they provide to socialise, communicate and learn. However, new technologies bring new risks that we need to be aware of and manage in order to safeguard the welfare of our members.
