My name  is Christine Davey, the County Commissioner for Girlguiding Cornwall, and I welcome you to Girlguiding in our wonderful County of Cornwall where Guiding is happening from coast to coast.  We have Rainbows, Brownies and Guide members on the Isles of Scilly and from Lands End to Launceston and Torpoint, together with Senior Section members in all the main towns and villages across the whole of Cornwall. Two new Queen's Guides

Two young women from Saltash were presented with their Queen's Guide awards by the County Commissioner recently. Lydia Butler (left) and Katie Finch were congratulated on completing this very testing award, the highest in Guiding.

Star of Merit award

A Guide from Praze-an-Beeble Guides was presented with the Star of merit award at a Carol Service at camborne. The Star of Merit is the highest recognition in Guiding for girls aged between 8 and 26 who have shown great courage and fortitude in their personal lives and is rarely awarded.

Visit to London

A group of 12 Guides visited London for their Baden-Powell Adventure. 'The best part of the weekend was going to stand outside the Prime Minister’s House - it was amazing and I felt famous,' says Ellie.

Commonwealth Youth Forum

The Commonwealth Youth Forum took place in Australia recently. One of our members, Charlotte Ball, was privileged to be asked to represent Girlguiding UK. She says, "It was an exciting week of interchange between delegates and a fantastic opportunity".

Service in Westminster Abbey

Bulb planting at 'Little Harbour'
